MCS Design & Sign Off Actions

- Display the intended placement for air source heat pump systems, along with locations for the hot water cylinder and heating elements (be it underfloor heating or radiators).
- Perform calculations to assess heat loss, ensuring the heat pump complies with MCS standards.
- Offer a comprehensive quote covering the supply, design, and installation.
- Supply detailed floor plans for underfloor heating systems or radiator setups.
- Provide an estimate of expected operational costs.
- Ensure the noise levels of the system are within MCS020 standards.
- Inform the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) about the planned installation of the heat pump.
- Create handover documents following MCS guidelines.
- Guarantee the system’s commissioning aligns with protocol, including submission of photos and documentation as proof of a successful installation.
- Communicate with all necessary regulatory authorities.
- Include a 2-year craftsmanship guarantee under the subcontractor agreement, adhering to both MCS and RECC consumer standards.
- Manage the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant application and voucher processing, if eligible.
- Register the initial deposit under Qualitymark protection.
