The right boiler needs to comfortably heat your home and provide the hot water your household needs, without being unnecessarily powerful. Too large and it can cycle on and off inefficiently. Too small and it can struggle when demand is high.
That’s why we assess your property and hot water requirements before recommending the boiler and output.

Combi, system or regular?

Combi boiler
A compact boiler that heats water when you need it, with no separate hot water cylinder or loft tanks. A great option for many flats and smaller homes, provided your mains water pressure and flow are strong enough.
System boiler + cylinder
Works with a hot water cylinder, making it better suited to larger households where several taps or showers may be used at the same time.
Regular boiler
Works with a hot water cylinder and usually tanks in the loft. Common in older homes, and can still be the sensible choice where the existing heating system is designed around one.

What affects the price?
A straightforward replacement will usually cost less than an installation requiring changes to pipework, the flue, hot water cylinder or other parts of the system.
If additional work would benefit your heating, such as radiator changes or a power flush, we’ll explain why and include it clearly in your quote.

The questions worth asking
before you replace your boiler
How do you decide what size boiler I need?
We look at how much heat your property needs and how much hot water your household uses rather than simply replacing your old boiler with one of the same output.
For combi boilers, we also check your mains water pressure and flow. That means the boiler we recommend is based on how your home actually performs and what you need it to do.
Will my manufacturer warranty be protected?
Yes. We install your boiler to the manufacturer’s requirements and register the warranty in your name after installation.
You’ll need to keep up with the required annual servicing to maintain the warranty. We can take care of that through one of our Boiler & Heating Care plans.
How disruptive is a boiler swap?
A straightforward like-for-like replacement is usually relatively simple. If your new boiler needs to be moved, the flue changed or your heating system modified, there will naturally be more work involved.
We assess this before quoting and explain what needs doing, so you know what to expect before installation day.

Yes.
